The Low Calorie, GMO Free, Low Carb Potato That You’ve Been Waiting For

Who can resist a crispy baked potato with a family roast? Not many. And if you’re following a strict low carb or banting lifestyle, chances are you’ve cut these “earth-apples” out of your diet.

But it may not be long before you can buy a low carb potato. A Canadian company based in Ontario has grown a low-glycemic version of the potato and named it beautifully, a “Carisma” potato. Therefore it doesn’t spike sugar and insulin levels as much as the common potato would.

A normal garden variety potato would hold about 100 calories and 25 grams of carbohydrate, whereas the Carisma low carb potato has about 70 calories and 25 grams of carbs.

Looking forward to grabbing a couple of these to satisfy my salty potato fries craving every now and again!
